Background:

Queen's Park Junior was officially opened by the secretary of State for Education in October 2003. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard, data projector and a computer which is networked with the learning resource centre (library and adjacent information and communication technology suite). There are two learning support rooms, a music and drama studio, which is well resourced with musical instruments, and a specialist music teaching room. The grounds are being attractively landscaped and the playground is marked out to encourage sport and play. It has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including tennis, drama, tag-rugby, football, recorders, gymnastics, folk club, fitness club, painting club, choir, athletics, brain busters, dance, disco and the 'Fantastic Fun Bible Club'. The school aims to provide a calm, caring and stimulating environment.
