Background:

St Mary's Primary School was founded in 1846 and opened on its present site in 1953. The school has a computer suite with 15 computers, an interactive whiteboard, video camera, projector and digital camera. It also has a large number of sports clubs including netball, football, girls' football and hockey, tag rugby, cricket, tennis, basketball and rounders. The school takes part in local swimming galas, netball and football tournaments and has matches against several other schools in the locality. The school aims to foster a caring family atmosphere. The school has a very caring, friendly, family atmosphere with a deep Christian ethos.
