Background:
St James' Church of England Primary School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is four to 11. It founded in 1858. New Buildings were added in the 1950s. The conversion of the kitchen to a craft room was completed in 1990. It includes a kiln and cooking facilities. A new playground was added in 1992. In April 2003 major rebuilding and remodelling of the school was completed which has provided 14 classrooms, an ICT Suite, refurbished toilets, a further playground and new Office accommodation. The school is proud of its achievements in netball, football and athletics and cross-country running.
