Background:
Parrett and Axe School is a small school situated on the edge of Dorset. The school is committed to giving all its children equal access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum in which individual needs are met. The old Mosterton School opened in 1876. The present school opened in modern, spacious, open-plan surroundings in 1976, funded jointly by the local authority, the Diocese of Salisbury and funds raised locally. Its aim is to create a positive, interesting and stimulating environment in which children can develop and mature to achieve their full potential. Every class has access to networked PCs the internet, and a range of control equipment. In addition to the formal subjects taught within the school there is a wide range of activities, which takes place outside school hours in which it encourages the children to take part. It is a place where the Christian faith is at the centre of everything and will encompass all aspects of school life.
