Background:
Bethany Church of England Junior School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. Founded after the amalgamation of small church schools, the school has many extra-curricular activities on offer including sport, art and music. Instrumental tuition is available from visiting teachers, and there is a school choir and orchestra, which provide entertainment for the community. To supplement and enrich areas of the curriculum the out-of-school clubs run courses in art and craft, cross-stitch and banner making, desktop publishing, netball and football, french, athletics, choir, folk club and walking. The library is very well stocked and has its own computer system. There are strong community links, especially with local churches. The school aims to encourage values of responsibility, honesty and helpfulness and to develop self-esteem and the confidence.
